This is what we had in mind when we created the Client Center, a customizable web application for independant consultants and firms that need an easy to use, web based system for communicating files and information between project managers.
Initially the application was written for Corporate Sign Systems, a designer and manufacturer of custom signage solutions. Recently we made major upgrades to the code, introducing major changes, such as thumbnail support for images, and implemented the application for Uncle'sLoft, a graphic design firm and strategic partner of Lampfire Information Services. The results of this project are shown on the left.

sharp electronics corporation - sweepstakes management system
Sharp Electronics (http://www.sharpusa.com) is a major corporation specializing in consumer electronics. Their diverse product line include Televisions, DVD Players, Camcorders, and Linux based PDAs.
For this project, Sharp needed a web application that would help them manage a promotional sweepstakes. They required an online submitable form that the public could use to automatically place their entries into a sweepstakes database as well as a mechanism to allow individuals managing the sweepstakes to manually add entries. Additionally, the application needed to check for duplicate entries and provide a mechanism for selecting a winner.
At the end of the project, Lampfire delivered a package that offered several features beyond what the product required. The web application included a random entry generator that not only culled a random entry from the database, but also provided a list of likely duplicates to insure the entry of contest rules. We also created a suite of tools that not only allow individuals administering the contest to add, edit, and, delete entries, but also included the ability to conduct complex searches of the database and to build contact lists based upon information such as product interests and geographic location. Finally, we coded a small sample of tools that delivered aggregate statistical data to track the efficacy of Sharp's marketing campaign.

coit services, inc. - online ordering system
Coit Services, Inc. (http://www.coit.com) is an international specialty cleaning company that operates through dozens of independently owned franchises. They offer a wide variety of cleaning services, including carpets, area rugs, and upholstery. Although Coit already had a web presence, their system for managing online orders was cumbersome, and relied on individuals in the corporate office to distribute information received via an email form to the appropriate franchise. This method resulted in an increased workload and decreased productivity and customer satisfaction.
Lampfire resolved this situation by creating a web application that takes orders, stores them in a MySQL database, and sends an email alert to the appropriate franchise. Additionally, Lampfire integrated a business intelligence system that gathers aggregate customer data and provides Coit with essential marketing data about their online customers, including real-time statistical data and dynamic color graphs.
By automating the online ordering system, Coit decreased the amount of labor required to process online orders, and added a new service that they could sell to franchisees, creating a new revenue stream for the company. Lampfire is actively seeking other home service franchise companies who could benefit from online ordering as new clients.

base consulting group - education calendar
BASE Consulting Group (http://www.baseconsulting.com) is a company based in Oakland, California that specializes in business intelligence. They offer two types of services - consulting and education. It was in support of the latter that Lampfire was called in to write this web application.
BASE has several locations across the United States where courses in Business Objects are offered. Members of BASE's education team were scheduling rooms through their corporate intranet using the calendar feature in Microsoft Outlook. However, they wanted an extranet application to accomplish the same task, so that team members could more easily access the calendar from remote locations, particularly when traveling.
Using the PHP scripting language and a small MySQL database, Lampfire was able to easily solve this problem. The education calendar is a secure, password protected application that supports multiple users with customized settings. For additional security, the application uses SSL encryption. Users are able to post and edit their own events to the calendar and read other users' posts. The application also includes an administration tool that allows the team leader to create and delete user accounts without any technical knowledge or assistance. The application requires no regular maintenance from a web programmer or IT specialist.
